Our Goal Is Bringing Joy to Others

Perhaps it is no surprise that “Phoenix” is Kristina Kwan’s middle name. As a child, she and her family were persecuted for their Chinese heritage and barely survived their escape from Vietnam. They finally arrived in St. Paul, Minnesota, with only the torn clothes on their backs after months of fear, danger, and terrible hunger.

But then, like the Phoenix of ancient culture, her family rose from the ashes. To this day, Kristina is grateful for her parents’ courage and their incredible work ethic as they balanced four jobs between them to give their children a better life. Today, she and her brothers are college educated, involved in their communities; and serve others in some capacity.

Maybe the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Kristina says, “I’ve worked hard my whole life to care for people, one way or another.” She has decades of combined experience in insurance, restaurant ownership, and event planning. Phoenix Hall is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to helping others.
